Are you using SQLite or MongoDB?
If the first you only need to maintain the config and storage folders, so resuming you can just copy the full docroot where cockpit is deployed and you should be ok.
If you using MongoDB, you need to the above and export/import your database using mongodump and mongorestore commands.
