I am new here I am trying out Cockpit via Docker/Portainer. I am wanting to test drive the software but I am not able to login to the admin backend to change the password and username.
Did I do something wrong or is this a botched installation ?.

Hi, try installing again. There might be something wrong with the install or your environment. Make sure you have met all the requirements for running Cockpit.
First, prepare the environment and upload the files to your directory. Then, navigate to the install URL and verify that you have met the requirements. Wait for install to finish and copy username and password. Go back to install directory and log in using those details.
