Table fields not truncated

You can override the JS Field Renderer by an addon.
Take a look at raffaeljs mini tutorial.

In your case it should be the field App.Utils.renderer.text

App.Utils.renderer.text = function (v) {

    if (typeof (v) != 'string') {
        v = String(JSON.stringify(v));
    }

    return v.length > 30 ? v.substr(0, 30).replace(/</g, '&lt;').replace(/>/g, '&gt;') + '...' : v.replace(/</g, '&lt;').replace(/>/g, '&gt;');
};
