If anyone else is stumbling across this question, found a fix here The $is_args in my nginx conf was missing, thats why the thumbnail options were the defaults (and throw errors about missing height/width and src) location / { try_files $uri $uri/ /index.php$is_args$args; }

I have also tried this with a completely new installation with the same result :frowning: Does anyone know how to fix this?
