Hi @xJoeyv we have the same challenge. We are researching linking front end theming to data.
A consideration for us is making a UI for theming and invoking layouts, blocks, etc and then associated them with collections, pages, singletons, etc.
Maybe we can collaborate?
create the file : config/cockpit/style.css which will get auto-loaded in the backend
or create an addon which loads your custom css
