How to hide certain columns from entries in the /collections/entries/... page?

I have a collection with over 20 different fields that can be entered. This makes the entries page feel very cluttered because of all the columns. Is it possible to hide some columns via a global setting for that collection?

Shifting between the List and the Grid view makes things slightly easier, but I would still like to know if such an option exists.

When you edit the collection, there are three icons for each field on the right side: list, options, delete. Click on the green list icon and it will be grayed out. Save the collection. Now the unselected field(s) aren’t displayed anymore in /collections/entries view.
