# Is it possible to create model through the API?

I found old posts that state it would be possible to create models?  
Here: [Create new collection over API](https://discourse.getcockpit.com/t/create-new-collection-over-api/2037)

But I could not get it working. The docs don’t state anything about an API to create models.

The request will return status 200.  
But seems you can send any random request like /api/collections/asdsadasd would return status 200.
