Hi all,

I am trying to install cockpit on my own domain hosted by GoDaddy. I cannot install the cockpit without disabling the .htaccess file but then I’m not supposed to be able to login without it, but it causes an internal server error.

Someone please help. I am quite literally losing sleep over this.

my domain is [blinkstudio.uk](http://blinkstudio.uk)

Hi,

I am not really sure why would you need to disable .htaccess in your main directory unless it has a specific rewrite there.

Do you mind sharing a little more details?

Thank you for getting back to me, @anarushka.

What kind of details would you need? I could share the .htaccess file, if you’d like?

I answered @Kedmun in private because I found a vulnerability in his public development stage and than I forgot about that tread.

The reason was, that `mod_version` wasn’t enabled on a shared GoDaddy host.

If you have the same problem, either activate `mod_version` for your apache or if you can’t enable it, you can delete or comment out all the `<IfVersion >= 2.4>` lines in `.htaccess` to match your setup.
