# How to publish / unpublish

I’m struggling to find where I can publish / unpublish a collection item. There doesn’t seem to be any UI for this. When I fetch the collection with `"filter": {"published": true}` I get no results so I assume these items are unpublished by default.

I installed cockpit using the docker container

You need to create a field named published (of type boollean), or you can use the moderation addon - [https://github.com/pauloamgomes/CockpitCMS-Moderation](https://github.com/pauloamgomes/CockpitCMS-Moderation)
